About

Hi!!! My name is Aran. At the time I started The Historical Herald in 2025, I was thirteen. It started out as a homeschool project - writing a few articles and designing them (somewhat), but I turned it into a huge personal project - Late Medieval Times. I wrote all the articles, designed them, and then coded my website for it. The whole ordeal took me more than a year! I hope you enjoy it!

Of course, The Historical Herald is a passion project, but it also has a mission: to make history as fun as it deserves to be! If you’re tired of hearing ‘in this year, they fought this battle, you’re in the right place. I feel like textbook history can be boring sometimes, and it’s a shame. History is such an exciting and interesting subject, and I think it should be presented like that. The Historical Herald is full of funny lines and little jokes to make you laugh. Needless to say, it should be accurate too. That’s why the articles feature real stories and how they happened to the best of our knowledge. I try to make sure that every detail is correct – I use place names how they were said at the time. Even the adverts on the sides of pages feature real historical concepts. Never heard of a hauberk or a gambeson? That’s ok – those historical terms are there to make The Historical Herald as immersive as possible. (By the way, they are types of medieval protective clothing).

Also, among those facts (and jokes) are some little easter eggs that probably no one will notice. Kudos to you if you spot some of those!
